Building the Perimeter: Center for Excellence

Today in Togo, West Africa the perimeter walls for the Center for Excellence are coming together! The Togolese construction team has poured the cement and begun to lay the brick for the nearly 6-foot wall that will encase the center. We are excited to know that inside of these walls lives will be changed radically and sick men, women and children will find access to greater healthcare.

The Center for Excellence will be a large, specialty health center with services that include family health, OB/GYN and birthing center, cardiology and pediatric care. It will also be a training facility where teams from the United States, in collaboration with teams in Togo, will research and learn best practices for meeting the health care needs in rural West Africa. The end goal is to also build several smaller surrounding medical centers that will provide basic family practice, OB/GYN and pediatric care.

Please see our most recent progress on the Center for Excellence in the below photos.
